Topic Choice

The topic I have decided to research for my I-Search paper is Climate Change. It is the only topic that had the most information in just the few days we were researching. Which I feel is important because of the length of time that we being further research our topics. I am very excited to start researching my topic fully, and going in depth with the many areas of the changing climate.
It is something I am passionate about and very interested in. I know only a little about the topic and feel I will gain a much better understanding of the effects and the solutions we are putting forth. If I broke climate change into the four different parts to research land, water, air and the changes we’re making it would make it I feel I will be able to break a part climate change and piece my information into manageable sections that won’t overwhelm me.
The currency of my topic is on going. It was an issue that sparked interest a few years back and is now an ongoing crisis that we are still researching and trying to solve. It is one of the most controversial issues right now and is talked about daily. The effects in different areas of the world, what we are doing to slow the process and even what we people aren’t doing are the general issues being looked at today.
There is a huge availability of information because climate change is such a current crisis. It is easy to find information on different search engines and databases that give information about all sides of climate change that I want to research. I believe there will be suitability for ongoing research because of the many questions people are asking today and the different solutions inventors and others alike are putting forth. How are we affecting the climate and what we are doing to help stop the changes? Is the major question being asked today and I want to look at all the aspects from land, water and the air that are being effected and the different on going answers others are coming up with to solve such a massive problem.
With such a large controversial issue it could become difficult because there are many different aspects and places I could go with my topic. I found a lot of information about whether or not climate change is actually taking a turn for the worse so making sure I find reliable information that supports my topic could as be difficult. Plus with so much information about my topic, making sure I don’t get to broad with my topic and too general so I don’t accumulate too much information that is unnecessary and stresses me out.

Justin's response

I think that global warming would be a great topic because there is so much information about it because everyone has been talking about it for the last few years. Social networking also sounds like a great topic especially if you want to do something different. Cancer research also sounds like interesting topic even though you couldn't find much information on it; maybe some new research will come out and provide new information.
